Crusin' Cards August 2012

This month is your "free" month where you can work on whatever project you want ( :

I used the Cruisin' paper packet to create these cards - cutting instructions are below - I did use the NEW Cricut Artiste cartridge and will bring that to class if you would like to create similar cards at class.

Please be aware that since you are all using different paper packets this month I will not be able to bring all of the materials - so - IF YOU NEED a particular ink pad or item that you do not have - PLEASE email me prior to class so I can bring it with me to class.  Thanks ( :

Flip Card:
5 1/2 Accent 1 ARTISTE cartridge pg 52 - Grey Wool (this is the flip base)
4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Squiggle B&T
2 1/8 x 5 1/2 Argyle B&T (stands tall)
2 1/4 Oval5 Layer AP cartridge - pg 62 Juniper *this will give you a frame and a smaller cut out
2 1/4 Oval5 AP cartridge pg 62 White Daisy
1 3/4 Oval5 AP cartridge pg 62 White Daisy
Just a number stamp set
Mini Sparkles
Black Ink

Fold the flip card in half - then fold the front part back in half again - so that you have a "folded edge" running half way down the card w/half of the oval5 pattern showing on the right of the fold.  You will adhere the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 squiggle paper to the inside but "back" of the flip card - to it's left is the grey wool cardstock showing - mount the juniper frame to the 2 1/4 oval5 white daisy piece and then adhere that over the grey wool oval5 shape showing to the left of the B&T you've just adhered.  This is sort of the "middle" of this card.  Close the card and you should now just see grey wool on the left  w/grey wool oval5 shape showing on top of the squiggle paper. Attach the argyle B&T to the left side of the card - you will now only see 1/2 of the oval5 shape showing in grey wool on the right of that B&T.

**in order for this to "flip" open you need to adhere the white daisy oval5 piece to the juniper cut out and then cut the layered pieces in half - STAMP your images of course FIRST before cutting out - then mount that to the oval5 shape showing and decorate w/sparkles as desired.

Film Strip Card:
White Daisy Base
4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Linen B&T
2" Accent 2 ARTISTE cartridge pg 67 Black Cardstock
1 1/4 x 5 1/4 White Daisy cardstock - to layer behind the film strip
Black Ink
3-D foam

I used the August Stamp of the Month to create this card - you could opt to put whatever images / words you desire into the boxes - simple card but fun ( :

Mustache Card:
White Daisy Base
4 x 4 1/4 Argyle B&T
1 1/2 x 4 1/4 Linen B&T
3/8 x 4 1/4 Cranberry Cardstock
1 1/2 Accent 2 shift ARTISTE cartridge pg 65 white daisy cardstock
1" Accent 2 Shift ARTISTE cartridge pg 67 Black Cardstock
Black ink
3-D foam
Button Brads
Mini Glue Dots
my legacy writers

I used the writers to add the little frame work around the words on the bubble - 3-D foam the mustache up.  Instead of having the brad backs showing in the card I used nippers to cut off the arms of the brads - and then mini glue dots to adhere them to the card front - giving it a clean inside.
