October Projects - ROXIE ( :

This month we will be working with the Roxie kit - I absolutely LOVE this paper packet ( :  it is so fun to work with!!

You will need the following for class:
Fiskars paper trimmer
Roxie WOTG kit (paper packet, brochure, stamp set, embellishments etc)
3-D foam (if desired)
Black Ink
Desert Sand Ink
Tulip Ink
Craft cardstock OR colonial white card bases & envelopes for cards
brochure uses Chocolate alphabet small for title

2x3 1/2
Brochure layout:
3- 6 x 4 PORTRAIT
1 - 3 x 3

Second layout:
1 - 4 x 6 PORTRAIT
2 - 4 x6 LANDSCAPE **if you want to add more photos - this is a great place to do flip flaps (:

This kit does not call for cricut cuts - but I cut 2 of my pieces using the cricut to give you an idea of how to start adding in cricut accents.

Piece C - is a 9" circle - Cricut cut: Circle 3  - 9"
Piece F - is a 2 x 11 - Crictu cut: Petal 1, Font, Shift - scalloped boarder - I would click "fit to page" so you can get as long of a piece as you can.

**Keep in mind that you should have your paper saver button clicked so that you get the most from your paper.

Second Layout - I've added a cricut cut frame so far - my cricut actually had to be exchanged w/Cricut and I haven't gotten it back as of yet so haven't cut any additional pieces for this layout - that said - I plan to cut a boarder for the 2 circles on the left side of the page that would match the small frame on the right.

This kit doesn't feature cards - but I came up with a couple on my own to share with you all.  The brochure showed the Memory Box - and 3x3 chipboard that had been decorated - so I made 3x3 cards instead.  Then I thought - what about a regular sized card?  So I took the same designs and created standard sized cards as well :

Card 1:
I made this card up myself - it uses the zip top boarder for the background.  Those pieces measure 1/2 wide - so you could recreate a similar look using multiple pieces of 1/2 x 4 1/4 wide pieces.

Add a 2" wide piece + a 1 3/4 wide piece and some sort of focal and you are good to go!

I added the zip top boarder for my focal and then 3 small cricut cut banner pieces cut 3/4" I believe - added a few mini sparkles and 3-D foam

Card 2:
This is a 3x3 card from Originals (Pieced Panels) on page 12 - those measurements are in the book.  Here's the standard card measurements:
Piece A:  1 1/2 x 5 1/2
Piece B: 2 x 3
BACKGROUND behind piece C: 3 1/2 x 3
Piece C:  2x2  for mat or Cricut Cut: Square 2, Decorative Layer 2"
Add another cut of a 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 in colonial white for a focal
I added a boarder as well - cricut cut

Card 3:
This is a 3x3 card from Originals (Triple Triple) on page 12 - measurements again are in the book (:
Standard card measurements:
1 1/2 x 3 (cut 3 or in my case I cut 2 in one pattern and then cut 1 in another)
and a mat! That's it!  I did a cricut cut mat as follows:
Shape 1 :  size 1 1/2
Oval 1  - size 1"

Add Opaques or Sparkles to bling up your cards and you are off!!
